Search the Help System

Use the Search bar to find information.

Search is a quick and powerful way to find information in the documentation. Simply enter one or more keywords in the search field and click the Search icon or press Enter. Search results show the topic title, listed in a ranked order. The results also include an excerpt of the paragraph which contains the matched search term. Clicking an entry opens the topic with the search results highlighted. The highlighting may be turned off by pressing the button at the top of the help window.

Features of the search function include:

  • Case insensitive ("Run" and "run" are the same)
  • Phrase search: type a string to find a term
  • Matches variant endings ("run" will find "runner", "running", and "runs")
  • Boolean Operators are supported: AND (+, &, and; inferred by a space between terms), OR (including |), NOT (use a ^ or !), ()
  • Partial-word search, strings of 3 or more characters
